His emotional side was seen in 2011 when he drove his car in a race and took ashes of Chris Radok with him. Chris was a photographer who was murdered in January the same year. It was his way of showing respect to Chris Radok.
While he was racing for the Army he often went to high schools to talk to students and he hosted soldiers at various NHRA events.
Tony also visited troops in their bases both in the USA and at war-zones, mostly in the Middle East.
