She was uploading videos regularly on her YouTube channel and was also in a reality show called The Avenue that aired from 2011 to 2013. They stated that in UAE “imitation of women by men” is illegal and violating it can cause a year in prison. Gigi was fortunately released after 5 hours. After the incident, there was a hashtag called #JusticeForGigi on Twitter. Her fans wanted to supporf hef and reform the anti-LGBT laws. Unfortunately, Lazzarato wasn’t the first transgender person to be detained in Dubai. The documentary calles This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous directed by Barbara Koople was premiered in 2017 on the Sundance Film Festival.
