Early life:
Dr. Pol was born in town in Netherlands called Drenthe on September 4, 1942. His full name is Jan Harm-Pol. His parents raised him in a simple family. They charished animals and nature and Dr. Pol loved to play with animals.
He have three sisters and two brothers with who he loved to play outdoor in the nature. His family owned one little diary farm.
After high school he decided to be a veterinarian and to help to sick animals, so he attended Utrecht University where he accomplished his dreams and became one of veterinary physicians. He have a DVM degree and he said that this decision is one of the best that he made.
Career Development:
When Dr. Pol marred his lovely wife Diane, they together decided to move to Michigan in the Harbor Beach. There he worked as veterinarian more than ten years and there he started with his professional career.
Eventually they moved to another place in Michigan called Weidman, where he decided to start their own practice. This practice was called Pol Veterinary Services and location of the practice was in their house. He said that in time of opening practice he wanted more control in his job.
This was big decision and big responsibility, but it was also very successful because he enjoyed in his job. Their practice started to work in 1981.
His dedication to his work led him to became one of veterinarian with the most recognition. Eventually he became famous after he started with his show on Nat Geo Wild which was called The Incredible Dr. Pol. Show started in 2011 and it still broadcast on the same network.
In the show also appears his wife Diane Pol, his son Charles Pol, Dr. Brenda Gettenberger and Dr. Emily Thomas. They are all experts in their professional field. Show have more than 100 episodes and it is very popular because people love to see someone who help to animals with their problems.

Dr. Pol met his wide Diane while he was at Mayville High School as exchange student during her senior year in 1961. They are in happy marriage for a half of century which means 50 years.
Diane was born in 1943 in Mayville, Michigan. She is just one year younger than her husband.
They loved kids too much, but unfortunately they couldn’t have their own kid after a years of trying. They had too much love to give, so they decided to adopt a child. Now they have three adopted kids. At first they adopted a daughter Kathy and a son Charles.
They also had a foster child Diane for many years and when she was eighteen they offered her to stay with them and to be a part of the family, like she was till then. Diane make a decision to stay and from than they are parents at three kids.
Charles is one of producers of the show, but he also appears in it. He is not completely sure would he continue with business of his father after he retires, but he have huge respect for him as well as for his hard work.
He is the almost all of his life resident of America, but still he and his wife celebrates a Saint Nicholas Day. He never forgot the place from which he came from. He like to visit his birth country, but it is just a vacation of one week or something like that.
He have a strong connection with a nature and he consider that he is giving back to nature for all that she gave to him.
