George Ezra is a British musician, singer and a songwriter.
He released his two EPs called “Did You Hear the Rain” in October and “Cassy O” in March, both in 2014. Ezra got attention of the media and became popular after releasing his song “Budapest”. This song reached first place in many countries.
Also, his debut album called “Wanted on Voyage” that was released in June 2014 reached first place in the United Kingdoms and was also in top 10 in seven countires.
The album was the third best-selling album in United Kingdom.
He was born on June 7th, 1993 by the name George Ezra Barnett in Hertford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. He was a son of two teachers.
He went to primary school located in Bengeo (United Kingdom) and he also attended Simon Balle School.
In 2011, he moved to Bristol in South West England where he started studying in the British and Irish Modern Music Institute.

George was on the Vevo’s “DSCVR Ones to Watch 2014”, MTV’s “Brand New for 2014” and many more lists that mentioned him as a breakthrough artist of the year.
He was also fifth on the BBC’s “Sound of… 2014” list.
His single “Budapest” ended up on the sixth place in Italy. It was even certified Platinum from the Federation of the Italian Music Industry.
He released another EP named “Cassy O” in March, 2014.
His debut album “Wanted on Voyage” was released on June 30th, a bit after his single “Budapest” got released in the United Kingdoms.
The album got on the third place on the UK Albums Chart on July 6th. It also charted in many other countries like Germany, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria.
Only a week after his debut album (“Wanted on Voyage”) was released it got on top of the UK chart.
In January 2015, his debut album was named third best album in UK in 2014. The first two albums were Ed Sheeran’s album called “X” and Sam Smith’s album called “The Lonely Hour”.
On January forth, the album got on the first spot again.
George released his music video for the song “Listen to the Man” in October, 2014. An actor Ian McKellen, known for his roles as Magneto in X-Men and Gandalf in Lord of the Rings series, was featured in the video.
In 2015, George was nominated for four Brit Awards: British Breakthrough Artist, Best British Album, Best British Single and also Best British Male Solo Artist.
He also opened Sam Smith’s in The Lonely Hour Tour in North America in 2015.
He toured with a known Irish artist Hozier on his North American Tour the same year.
George created his own word, “Petan” that you pronounce as “pay-tan” and encouraged his fans to use it in their everyday life. He sells his merch with the word “Petan” printed on it.
He was interviewed in March, 2015 and he stated thath his “petan” word is made up and that he created it with his friends. They were eighteen at the time and it doesn’t have a true meaning but his fans embraced it either way.
He was featured on the Saturday Night Live along with Dwayne Johnson on March 28th, 2015.
A few weeks later he appeared on the television again. On April 13th, performed “Budapest” on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
George appeared on Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Norwich in Norfolk on May 24th. He performed hits “Budapest”, “Cassy O” and “Blame It on Me”.
He performed on the Osheaga Festival located in Montreal, Canada on July 31th, 2015.
He sang “Blame It on Me” on November 11th, 2015 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
George announced his “top secret” tour across UK and Ireland on April 3th, 2017. He also stated that he will be performing some new singles on it.
He released his lead single from his upcoming “Staying at Tamara’s” album called “Don’t Matter Now” on June 16th.
Another single called “Paradise” was released on January 19th, 2018. He released a music video for it a week after.
He released “Staying at Tamara’s” on March 23th, 2018 and it became a UK number-one album.
He released a first episode of his podcast called “George Ezra & Friends” where he talks to another musicians on February 12th, 2018. His first guest was a famous UK musician, Ed Sheeran.
Some of his guests were famous artists like Elton John, Rag’n’Bone Man, Lily Allen, Hannah Reid, Sam Smith, Craig David, Justin Young, Ben Thatcher, Jessie Ware, Giles Martin and Declan McKenna.
